For people who have to go to work outside their town

(like me, from Espinho to Porto)

traveling by bus can be a very instructive and interesting (if not funny) experience, to be repeated everyday of your life

(or until you get fired from your job or, better yet, find a new one)

(Unless your new job is outside your town, and than it starts all over again)

(Sigh!)

Anyhow...

You get to know all sorts of people. Tall, short... Fat, Slim... Pretty, not so pretty... And lots of tourists!

It's amazing how many tourists come to our little country and visit what we, portuguese, do not visit.

(there's probably some english guy who knows Porto better than me. Except clothing stores, of course!)

If you are visiting a country, there's nothing better than to take the bus, for it takes you everywhere in town. And i don't mean the yellow or red or green buses.

My advice is to take the normal bus (STCP in Porto) and ride allong with the workers and students and everyone else who has nothing to do than riding the bus in rush hour!!!

(you know who you are!)

And for you tourists who are reading this post, i give you another advice: Don't be afraid to ask for directions inside the bus: Where you want to go... Where should you step out... We may not understand your language

(although we are very versatile)

we will manage to say: this is the last stop! This will save you lots of embarrassment when you see everybody stepping out except you! And than the driver has to tell you or show you you have to go!
